Ingredients
- 1 cup (240 ml) water
- 1 black tea bag (or 1-2 teaspoons loose black tea leaves)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
- 1-2 teaspoons honey or sugar (to taste, optional)
- 1 lemon slice (for garnish, optional)
Steps
1. Boil Water:
- Heat 1 cup of water in a kettle or pot until it reaches a rolling boil.
2. Prepare the Tea:
- Place the tea bag in your teacup or teapot.
- If using loose tea leaves, place them in a tea infuser or tea ball, and then put the infuser in your teacup or teapot.
3. Steep the Tea:
- Pour the boiling water over the tea bag or tea leaves.
- Let it steep for 3-5 minutes, depending on how strong you like your tea. For a stronger flavor, steep for up to 5 minutes.
4. Add Lemon Juice:
- Remove the tea bag or tea infuser.
- Stir in 1 tablespoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice.
5. Sweeten the Tea:
- Add honey or sugar to taste if desired. Stir until fully dissolved.
6. Garnish and Serve:
- Garnish with a slice of lemon and a few mint leaves if you like.
- Serve hot, or let it cool and serve over ice for a refreshing iced lemon tea.
